Five Months

At five months, Colin...

- Has discovered his toes...He'll suck on them while getting his diaper changed.

- No longer takes the binky on a regular basis...He prefers his thumb.

- Is exclusively breast fed, but did get to suck on a carrot for the first time.

- Rolls and rolls, but mainly in one direction.

- Prefers to sleep on his side, but has learned to sleep on his stomach as well.

- Loves to dance with his daddy to Bruce Springsteen and his Uncle Tim's songs.

- Doesn't just talk anymore, but SHOUTS!

- Pulls at my hair and anything else he can get his hands on.

- Weighs just under 21 pounds

- Prefers to stand or sit rather than being laid on his back.

- Goes to sleep between 7-7:30 and sleeps until 6:00 the next morning (We're so thankful!).

- Lights up when he sees his daddy's face.

- Likes to read eat books.

- Is a very happy baby.

- Gives sloppy, adorably wonderful kisses.

Race for the Cure

Last weekend we proudly participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in Temecula. We were energized and blown away by the thousands and thousands of people who also attended. Everyone's enthusiasm was infectious. You couldn't help but feel moved and motivated.

This year's event was extra special for us. In August, our sister-in-law Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy in September. We are so thrilled she is now cancer-free! Her courage and positive attitude continue to inspire us. We love you, Colleen!

(The above design was created by our talented cousin, Kelly.)

Priceless

Months ago, Ash, Em and I decided on a date to visit Oak Glen to go apple and pumpkin picking. We went last year and had a great time picnicking and celebrating the fall season. Fast forward to the scheduled weekend, and I got sick! :( Fortunately, Em and family still decided to come and stayed with Ash and family instead. I was out of commission most of the weekend, but did make it up to Oak Glenn. The day did not disappoint. It was beautiful, and we got some great pictures of the kiddos.

However, the very best pictures were actually taken the next day. In hopes of getting an Anne Geddes type photo, Ash posed all the babies inside a pumpkin. The result was...simply put...priceless. I was not there to experience the mayhem, but I will love this photo forever!

Four Months

Four months is really a fun age! Colin is turning into a little person...He's no longer a baby blob! He's alert and much more aware of what's going on around him. He'll seek out Kevin or I and give us a big goofy grin. He's grabbing at things and now regularly rolls from back to stomach....At which point he gets frustrated and starts crying! (We'll roll him over to his back and he'll roll onto his stomach again. It's a never ending battle!) No teeth at this point...still lots of drool! (As you'll see in the pictures below.) He talks and laughs a lot! He loves to stand on our laps and sit up. At 19lbs, 11oz and 27 inches long, he's still off the charts and wearing 9 month clothes. It is very cliche, but he is growing up too fast. We're really excited for all the upcoming holidays and events....We can't wait to celebrate with him!

Football

I love football! I'm sitting on the couch and watching football with my boys. We're teaching Colin that our favorite teams are UCLA, Notre Dame, and whoever is playing USC. We're currently cheering on Minnesota! Go Gophers!
